Stop Applying to Open Roles

Brian LaManna

Stop applying to open roles on LinkedIn!!!

The ‘boring’ way is to find a job board with open postings.

Then you go through that job board and decide which companies to apply to. You submit your resume and never hear back.

Sound familiar to you?

That is Option #1.

Your Two Options for a New Job

The Strategy Behind #2

Once you find a company that really interests you, I’d go to Sales Nav / LinkedIn and see:

  • Am I already connected with anyone here?
  • Is anyone in my network connected with someone here? (2nd degree connection)

I’d then go ahead and add a bunch of their sellers via connection requests.

Ideally, you are either connected to someone or can get a warm intro.

If not, I’d reach out to an SDR / AE directly and message them.

Show up with an observation, your research, and an easy ask.

How to Execute On It

Most companies are still adding talent, just not as aggressively.

Any org will still look to add an A player to their team.

Worst case scenario they have zero capacity and the second they do… you could be on their short list.
